Why the Equity Model Matters

Brave Nature Collaborative operates on a sliding-scale Equity Model.
Families select their tier based on household income—rates are set by your means, not a fixed price. Every tier receives every benefit. Your level reflects your economic reality, not your welcome.

Explore Memberships

We reject scholarship-based systems because they create barriers even when trying to remove them:

Our sliding-scale model aims to remove these barriers. When you contribute to BNC—whether as a member paying your tier or as a donor supporting the Collaborative—you're sustaining a system designed for dignity and access from the start. You're ensuring that economic power never determines who gets to learn, grow, and belong here.

Scholarships create uncertainty

Families don't know if they'll be accepted, when spots will open, or what they'll ultimately pay.

Scholarships create sticker shock

Advertising one price while offering another behind closed doors makes it harder for families to even consider applying.

Scholarships require proving worthiness

Asking families with less economic power to justify their need, write essays, or submit extra paperwork adds labor and indignity to what should be straightforward access.

The administrative weight of reviewing applications can create unconscious bias against the very families the system claims to serve.

Scholarships can create organizational bias
